The common pharmaceutical treatment for anxiety and sleeplessness is a drug known as benzodiazepines (the most well-known of these would be Valium). However, these drugs are well-known for their risks of side effects, including the potential for developing a dependence or addiction, as well as negative interactions with other drugs or alcohol.
